S.M.A.R.T. Goals: Getting Started

This one-day workshop provides a basic understanding and working knowledge of how to write a school-level S.M.A.R.T. Goal using the Tree Diagram, a powerful graphic organizer and monitoring tool. The workshop is delivered on site to full faculty or teacher-leaders and the principal.

Participants will leave with:

  • an understanding of how to find an academic "Greatest Area of Need" (GAN) based on provided data
  • knowledge of how to translate data into a S.M.A.R.T. Tree Diagram
  • basic skills for running effective collaborative meetings

Each participant receives workshop materials and either a copy of our S.M.A.R.T. Goals Primer or, if the session is for school administrators, a copy of QLD's Breaking the Low Achieving Mindset by Dr. Susan Abplanalp.
