Build Internal Capacity for Change

We are in the process of establishing the 2012-2013 calendar of S.M.A.R.T. Coach Academies. Please call Kiett Takkunen at 888-700-9535 if you would like to see a S.M.A.R.T. Coach Academy in your area, or if you would like to participate in one of the upcoming Academies.

S.M.A.R.T. Measurement System (S.M.S.)

The S.M.A.R.T. Measurement System™ (S.M.S.™) is an evidence-based model that we developed to help you monitor the implementation and results of any systemic initiative. S.M.S. can be used to measure any programmatic improvement or reform initiative you’ve undertaken, including but not limited to S.M.A.R.T. School Improvement.

Built on the criteria of S.M.A.R.T., S.M.S. incorporates three critical components and their associated forms of measurement:

S.M.A.R.T. Tools Institute

The S.M.A.R.T. Tools Institute is designed to help participants acquire the skills and knowledge needed to successfully implement professional learning communities, whether the team is at the beginning of the process or has been working as a professional learning community for some time. Key to becoming a successful professional learning community is understanding the power of using collaborative processes for focused, data-driven learning and improvement.

S.M.A.R.T. Goal Process Training + implementation support

This affordable, time-saving QLD service supports schools in learning the S.M.A.R.T. Goal Process and tools. We begin with the two-day S.M.A.R.T. Goal Process Training followed by three days of on-site coaching and up to six 45 minute phone support  sessions per team. Coaching and support are provided by QLD-certified S.M.A.R.T. Coaches.

S.M.A.R.T. Goal Process Training

This two-day training utilizes the participant's own school data to provide a basic understanding and working knowledge of the S.M.A.R.T. Goal Process, a data-driven, collaborative goal-setting and monitoring system for improving instruction. Participants will learn and apply practical, easy-to-use tools and methods designed to keep teams focused on their highest priority work – student achievement. The training is delivered on site to any combination of teams or individuals at any or all levels K-12.

Targeted Professional Development

One of the steps in the S.M.A.R.T. Goal Process is to research the best practices pertaining to the Greatest Area of Need (GAN) and bring to bear the appropriate professional development.

Our Consultants and Coaches have a lot to offer in addition to their S.M.A.R.T. Goals process work and implementation support. Each consultant has particular expertise in one or more of the following areas:
